Wall Street Journal letter, September 10, 2016
Gov. Mitch Daniels should be President. He has put his finger on perhaps the fatal flaw of democracy, identified long ago by George Bernard Shaw: “A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul.”
Mr. Daniels couldn’t have said these things in a presidential campaign or he would have washed out before New Hampshire. Even in this piece written from the safety of Purdue University, he cannot bring himself to specify the unpalatable remedies—means-testing of entitlements and large tax increases on the wealthy.

Right on. No one can exceed resources indefinitely. There will be an accounting and ,importantly,a reckoning.

Got a note from Daniels, complete with title and mailing address and a copy of the book. I’m sure it was done by a staffer. This guy is running for President in 2020.
